The company Stitz is a leading specialist in geotechnical and soil investigation equipment. For generations, we have been designing and manufacturing field-proven soil mechanical devices. Our broad and recognized range offers a variety of products that meet the highest quality standards.
The company was founded by Kurt Stitz in 1961. In the early days, precision mechanical automatic turned parts were manufactured. The production quickly expanded into new areas. Due to the substantiol growth, the production site in Benthe became too small. In 1977, the production was relocated from Benthe to a new company building in Gehrden.
Developments in measuring instruments in soil and rock mechanics followed.
Force transducers
Devices for measuring and monitoring tensile forces.
Extensometers
Universal length measurement devices for monitoring movements in underground construction.
Borehole deformation probe
Used to determine static and rheological rock and mountain data.
Measuring instruments
Electronoc display and evaluation devices. Directly readable strains, length changes, pressures, and forces.
With the changes and demands of the industry and equipment, we have also grown and continually ventured into new areas.
Window sampling
Including percussion window sampler and hydraulic pulling devices for collecting information about soil composition and structure.
Dynamic probing
Including dynamic pneumatic penetrometer used to measure penetration resistance in soil investigagion procedures.
Soil investigations
Various field devices such as hand drills for obtaining soil material to determine the content of mineral nitrogen (Nmin).
Water sampling
Different water samplers for obtaining water samples for analysis, for example, contamination spread.
In 1997, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Michael Stitz-Maack was appointed as the managing director. Under his entrepreneurial leadership, significant product and technology innovations were implemented.
Developments and manufacturing of measuring instruments, as well as additional manufacturing and distribution areas for soil investigation equipment and geotechnical devices, followed.
Thanks to a well-established, loyal, and qualified team, we are able to carry out various manufacturing steps in-house.
In 2018, Henrik Maack M.Sc. was appointed as the additional managing director and ensures that we can continue to offer our customer reliable and cost-effective products in the future.
Our goal is to offer our customers not only innovative products but also tailor-made solutions. Ingenuity and well-founded customer knowledge are crucial in this endeavor.
