Percussion window sampler

Percussion window samplers or also named ram core probes are used to collect soil samples and obtain information about soil composition and structure.

According to DIN EN ISO 22475–1, window sampling is a small percussion drilling method that belongs to the small drilling techniques.

This method is versatile and is used in geology, for environmental site assesments, construction of buildings and infrastructure projects, archaeology, soil classification, profile description, and many other application. Window sampling is particularly suitable in areas with limited access.

One of the in-house connection from our company STITZ GmbH. The RDS product line has been continuously improved over the years.

The RDS connection allows for the transmission of higher forces compared to conventional connection types. Additionally, the connection is characterized by easier handling during screwing and loosening.

The need for loosening and tightening conventional threaded nipples is eliminated.

Thanks to its special design with continuous hollow probing rods, the RDS system can be used for soil sampling as well as water sampling with the “Direct Push (DP)” method.

The percussion window sampler with inner liner are used for extracting relatively undisturbed soil samples for contaminated sites and soil investigations.

The outer tube has a closed surface and protects the inner liner. The cutting shoe is screwable to insert and remove the inner liner.

With the inner liner, sediment cores with a diameter of 46 mm can be obtained.

For easy assembly and disassembly, both outer tube and the probe head are equipped with a key surface. The cutting edge has a borehole.
